Bakhache opens its flagship Melbourne boutique at The Block Arcade

On an evening filled with soft light and conversation, The Block Arcade marked a new chapter with the grand opening of Bakhache’s flagship Melbourne boutique. Set beneath the glass canopy and surrounded by mosaic tiled floors and late nineteenth century architecture, it was a fitting introduction for a brand that lives and breathes detail.

Guests gathered at The Block Arcade to be welcomed by founder Antoine Bakhache, who shared his thanks with the friends, family and supporters who have been part of the brand’s journey so far. His words set the tone for the night, emphasising connection, gratitude and the pleasure of finally calling Melbourne home.

The celebration unfolded with a live performance by Noria Letts, whose soulful voice carried through the arcade and into the boutique, adding warmth and atmosphere to the occasion. The experience was completed with a menu created by Michelin starred chef Alan Geaam, giving the evening a distinctly international flavour while still feeling very much of Melbourne.

Inside the new boutique, Bakhache invites visitors into a world shaped by vintage influences, careful craftsmanship and a love of keepsake pieces. The space has been designed to feel intimate and refined, with a focus on texture, light and proportion that sits comfortably within the heritage surrounds of The Block Arcade.

For The Block Arcade, Bakhache adds another layer to a long tradition of specialty retailers, artisans and family owned businesses who have traded here for generations. It is a natural fit in a place where people come to slow down, appreciate beauty up close and make considered choices that will stay with them.
